​Art therapy education in Poland includes:
  • Bachelor's degrees (e.g. University of Silesia in Katowice (https://us.edu.pl/wydzial/wns/arteterapia/)
  • Master’s degrees (e.g. University Ignatianum in Krakow (https://www.ignatianum.edu.pl/)
  • Postgraduate programs provided by various universities and educational institutions
  • At the doctoral level (PhD) and the highest academic degree in Poland habilitation (dr hab. / associate professor); art therapy is not recognized as an independent scientific field and for this reason it is incorporated into officially approved disciplines such as Pedagogy, Fine Arts or Psychology and others
  • KAJROS Association of Polish Arts Therapists offers specialized two-year courses in Clinical Art Therapy (http://kajros.pl/arteterapia-kliniczna/) and Dramatherapy (http://kajros.pl/teatroterapia/)
While there is no state recognition for art therapy, the occupation is listed in the official government occupational classification under code number 323013. 
Visual art therapy is conducted in a variety of settings:
  • in medical settings,
  • psychiatric hospitals,
  • occupational therapy workshops,
  • at special schools,
  • private practice,
  • oncology service,
  • at schools,
  • social settings, etc.
A wealth of literature on art therapy is available in Poland.

Among the authors some names are worth to be mentioned: Wiesław Karolak, Eugeniusz Józefowski, Wita Szulc, Aleksandra Plaskota, Iwona Bugajska-Bigos, Anna Steliga, Janina Florczykiewicz, Maja Stańko and others.
